No, in fact, you can sign up as a Brand Partner and as long as you pay the annual $25 membership fee, you can keep getting your patches at wholesale pricing. But this leaves you the opportunity to get paid to share this amazing technology with everyone you know!
However in order to get any compensation from activities in your downline, you do need to maintain 110 points of personal volume (easy!) in the last 31 days.

You only have to purchase the Core or higher package as shown in the picture above. That’s it! There is no inventory that you have to keep on hand.
